Valuation Fees

We offer two levels of valuation depending on how detailed you need the report and the value of your item.  If you are unsure which option applies, don't worry, we are always happy to guide you during our consultation process. 

Our Standard Service is currently 2-3 weeks. We also have urgent Same Day Services (add 30% to the charge) and One Hour per item Services (add 50% to the charge). Please note that urgent services are not available for watches. 

Our Comprehensive Valuation (most suited to items valued at over $3000)    Sample

A detailed valuation with in-depth descriptions and assessments of the settings, identifications and grading of gemstones, values and photos of your item.

• Jewellery items with gemstones (for example a diamond ring) $160
• Jewellery items without gemstones (for example a plain gold bracelet) $100
• Watches and Charm Bracelets $200

Our Brief Standard Valuation (most suited to items valued at under $3000)    Sample

A concise valuation that features a photo, brief description and identification of your item along with a suggested replacement value.

• Jewellery items with gemstones (for example a sapphire and diamond ring) $100 
• Jewellery items without gemstones (for example a plain gold chain) $70

Gemlab updates  (if you have had your items valued by GemLab before, then we can update those valuations for you.) 

• Sighted Updates bring your jewellery back into us for the full service at a reduced cost. (30% less than the usual charge)  
• Unsighted Update, if your valuation is less than 10 years old we can offer an updated valuation based on the information that we have on file, all done remotely (50% less than the usual charge). Please note this service is only available for insurance valuations. 

We can also offer an identification of your jewellery

A report with a photo of your item, stating either what the gemstone is (for example a Sapphire), or what carat gold your jewellery item might be, or both.  No value of the item is provided. 

• Plain metal or gemstone $50
• Metal with gemstone(s) $70

All prices quoted are per item and for our standard service time of 2-3 weeks. Additional charges may apply to exceptional pieces that require more research time, we will advise you of this when we see the items during our consultation process. All of our valuations are tailored for your personal requirements, whether for insurance, resale, estate division or legal purposes. 

Bookings are required on all valuation services. We have bookings for our Standard two to three week service available from Monday the 8th of June. Bookings for our While-You-Wait and Same Day services available from Tuesday the 17th June.

**The price of gold is currently at an all time high and many people will be underinsured for their gold jewellery, we strongly recommend updating your valuations and/or getting your gold jewellery valued.**
